BT Vision and emuse plan ahead, to stay ahead.
May 2008 - BT Vision and emuse have today announced a further extension to their existing relationship with a commitment to building a significant pipeline of new and cutting-edge IPTV applications over the next 12 months.
Following hot on the heels of the launch by the two companies of the OnVision magazine service in December 2007 (the world's first commercial Tasman browser application) this deal will see BT Vision maintain its position as the leading exponent of enhanced functionality on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform.
The pipeline of applications to be developed will include further enhancements to the OnVision service, a new BT Vision Sports service, a 24/7 AdZone showcasing innovative advertising and sponsorship, a lifestyle magazine service and a games and gaming portal.
The OnVision service will continue to develop with richer content and dynamics. The BT Vision Sports service will enhance BT Vision's existing sports content and provide video-rich news, stats and highlights services across a range of sports while offering armchair sports fans an ever-changing selection of premium VOD sporting content.
AdZone, a showcase for compelling and innovative advertising and sponsorship showing the capabilities of the BT Vision platform, will be available to viewers 24/7. The lifestyle magazine will feature in depth analysis of a wide-range of topics for BT Vision viewers to initially be focused on motoring and parenting.
`It is always interesting to be working with top-tier companies such as BT Vision,' says Patrick Rainsford, CEO, emuse. `In this instance it is all the more interesting as we are developing applications that will be very video rich, and advertising supported thereby seeing our two companies again create and deploy world-leading commercial IPTV applications.'
emuse will host and manage all of the audio and video assets for these applications on behalf of BT giving BT Vision the flexibility to scale their services rapidly and allows also for the content to be refreshed more frequently. emuse will also manage all aspects of the applications for the duration of their commercial deployment.
The applications will initially be built for BT Vision by emuse in the Tasman browser but with the intention of migrating all of these services into the Microsoft Presentation Framework (formerly Milwaukee) on its deployment by BT Vision. emuse is currently Microsoft's beta partner on the Microsoft Presentation Framework.
